Is Your Website Content Worth Reading or Obvious Search Engine Bait?

Glance over at this Website Promotion stuff. This piece of information may be utilized to greater depths to perceive Online Marketing.

Is Your Website Content Worth Reading or Obvious Search Engine Bait?

 by: Jack Humphrey

Webmasters are always looking for ways to increase their traffic and exposure. This is natural and will never change. No one is ever content with their traffic levels.

But problems arise with this reality as well. While it is good to be motivated to get as much traffic as possible, it is tempting to try and cut corners and use tactics that are temporary rather than permanent solutions.

And there are myriad tactics that can take your entire business down the tubes as well. The trick is not to be tempted with short-term gain over long-term income from your web business.

Many webmasters are aware that “content is king” and that you have to brand your site to make sales and build credibility. But most people only take these facts at face value and only as they pertain to the search engines. Big mistake.

Your content is your lifeblood for more reasons than search engine placement. This is your “face” on the net.

So if you’re using new strategies to bring in more targeted traffic, make sure you don’t use something that could kill your business just to get some short term traffic.

Many people are putting article directories on their sites these days. Having a set of articles on your site is great for building credibility and making more sales, if you do it right.

But as is always the case, I see people taking that to the extreme and missing the point entirely. Now I see some webmasters completely emptying out the big article directories like GoArticles.com to put hundreds or even thousands of articles on their sites.

With no editorial review they just take the whole category their site fits in best and grab up any and all articles in it. Remember, anyone can get into an article directory whether they can write or not. Whether they are an expert or not. Want those guys on your site representing you?

I have a smaller article directory than most people at http://webmastertraffictools.com/articledirectory/

Why so small? Because I review each and every article that is submitted there. There is a very good reason for this.

To get someone to first visit your site takes money and time. Once you have them there it is easier to get them back if you impress them.

Whatever methods of temporary website promotion you use, you have to keep in mind that you want something that will work for you for years, not months. Therefore, if all you ever do is troll for temporary traffic you will ALWAYS be promoting as hard as you are today. Wasn’t part of the reason you started working online to work less and make more?

Me, I want to have a network of sites that eventually promote themselves so I can spend the rest of my life on vacation. If you don’t start laying down the foundation of that kind of system, you are never going to be able to retire with your site(s) supporting you.

This write-up is exceedingly excellent still some readers are doubtful about its benefits.

It worked for particular readers who were looking for Website Promotion. But some of them didn’t aide.

Only you have the intelligence to be the ideal critic of this material. Just comprehend all the words to get the importance of this stuff.

Putting up content for content’s sake is redundant. Other people’s content is already on hundreds of other pages.

You don’t stand out in the crowd that way alone. It is temporary at best if it works at all for you, and once people get to your site and realize you have harvested all your content from a directory they have already read through, you’ve made an enemy, not a customer out of them.

AND if you were unscrupulous enough to even reprint articles from people who spammed that directory with ads, poor english, poor advice, and everything else, I guarantee your visitors are leaving your site with no respect for you, whatever you sell, and with a deep hatred of “sites like yours” on the net.

That is not a long-term plan for a web business. See what I mean by temporary? No repeat traffic is no business at all.

So while my article directories are smaller, they have timely, relevant content from expert authors who can spell and who really spent time on their pieces.

Therefore I get repeat traffic, more clicks on ads, more sales of products, and a real income from that directory that will last as long as I own the site.

Points to Ponder:

  1. Content is not king. GOOD content is king.
  2. Repeat business is cheaper than new business.
  3. Your name and brand are the only thing of singular value and importance to you on the web.

Well. Your keen drive to explore more would be requited further. If you go on reading further, we guarantee that your enthusiasm in this would be reinforced.

  4. And short-term solutions to getting in the engines are always just that: short-term

Someday, if you are one of the webmasters I talked about above who only see the short-term picture, you are going to get tired of all the work you have to constantly do to keep traffic coming in.

And the worst part is, since you will have no foundation to rely on when you need a break, you won’t be able to take one. If your focus on website promotion is always on short campaigns and tricking search engines temporarily into thinking your site is of actual value, once you stop what you’re doing (probably from sheer burnout) your income also stops.

But if you have the foresight to build a base for your internet business, and you pay attention to and have standards for the kind of content you put up, you will be able to walk away from your business from time to time and the traffic and interest will still be there.

For me it is unthinkable to base my entire business on temporary solutions for getting traffic and sales when, if you have seen what you can make in the short term, why not get set up to reap those rewards for life?

But that’s just me. I profit greatly from people doing it the other way. Simply because when someone comes to my site and sees content of value, they feel as though they have found an oasis in a desert of trash. A place they will visit more than twice and gladly bookmark.

You can figure out the value of that kind of response for yourself, as it pertains to your business in particular.

Between the two choices, I’ll take repeat and recommended traffic over fly-by-night, angry, resentful traffic any day of the week!

Well. Be certain that your lookout would go further this point. Go on reading, there are more minutiae to follow.

9 Hot Tips for Linking with other Web Sites

This ballyhoo is just the right stuff that is rolling down your eyes. The perseverance to get the knowledge on Website Promotion would conclude here. All these particulars might modulate your conception.

Read the write-up to find the fragments of data. Here it advances.

If you have a website the chances are you receive e-mails from Webmasters asking you to make a link exchange with them. But how do you know whether you should link to their website or not? Well here are 9 rules of thumb, to help guide you through the linking maze.

1. Is their site relevant to yours?

This is key, and more and more important these days. If the answer is YES then it s worth thinking about. If it s off topic then you may want to think twice before swapping links. A link from a relevant website to your site is the preferred choice as it can help reinforce your website theme and potentially send some useful traffic your way.

2. How many links is too many on a links page?

When your link is being placed on another website, you ideally want that page to contain as few outbound links as possible. 15 or less outbound links is good, 150 outbound links is not so good. If there are a high number of links on a page [such as 150] then the value of each link out is weakened. Whilst we can only make assumptions about link weight some Webmasters will use a cut off point of 50, 75 or even 100 links on a page as a top end maximum. Anything over 50 outbound links on an average resources page is certainly quite high. However if your link will appear on the page of a good quality site or authority website an exchange can still be worthwhile.

3. What is the Page Rank of the site on Google?

Some webmasters focus a lot on Google s page rank as a measure of a website. If you download and install the Google toolbar you will see a measure of 1 to 10 shown via a horizontal bar for each site you are on. Typically the higher the page rank, the more important a site is perceived to be. A link from a Pr 5 page is often seen as a more powerful link than one from a Pr1 page. However, Google s Page Rank is only meant to be a rough guide and should not be taken too seriously. Tip one should always preside - a relevant link is always what you want.

Ah. Be open in eliciting your perception on this article of Online Marketing Strategies.

We have many write-ups on Website Promotion which you could read. Towards the terminating paragraph, don’t have a short memory to discover the resources on Website Promotion.

4. Should the links page be categorized?

Personally I prefer a well organised links page. If your citing a resource in context of an article you would link from the paragraph, but for the purposes of resource links it is a good idea to organise your pages into relevant themes relating to your website and business. If the site containing the link you are being offered is placed on a page with 200 links all mixed up and covering every topic under the sun, then it s not ideal. If you re an online shop selling Art Prints should you really be on the same links page as Hosting Companies and Travel Agents? Make the effort to organise your resource pages, even if some link partners don’t.

5. Is the links page being read by search engines?

It is important that the page your link is on can be found and read by search engines. The page should be no more than 2-3 clicks away from the homepage. You can even test if the web page is in the Google index by visiting www.google.com and typing into the search bar cache: with the full domain and page name extension after it. So your query in the Google search bar could read: cache:www.mywebsite.com/thelinkspage.html.
The page should then show in the Google index. If it does not then there are a couple of possibilities. 1/ The page is very new and hasn t been crawled yet or 2/ the site has a problem being crawled by search engines due to poor internal linking.

O.K. Stop being whippersnapper, read it thoroughly to get ideal report which might augment your intellectual capabilities. Your craving for facts could get quenched in subsequent paragraphs.

6. What if a Webmaster asks me to link to one site, but links back to me from a different site?

This process is sometimes referred to as ‘3-way linking’ or a ‘linking triangle’. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with 3-way linking as it can sometimes be done for convenience. However the first thing you need to do is 1/ Evaluate the site you are linking to and 2/ Evaluate the site and page you are getting the link from. So is the outbound link destination relevant to your site, and is the inbound link you are going to receive also coming from a quality related website?

7. Do I want to associate my business with this particular site?

It is a simple question to answer and this should form part of your decision making process. If you think you have been approached by a good website then the chances are others will feel the same and possibly the search engines too.

8. How do I know if my link partners are still linking to me?

You can do this manually by keeping the information for each link partner in an Excel spreadsheet or similar and then periodically check the exact URLs your link should appear on. However if you get to the stage of having hundreds of link partners this may become rather impractical. At this stage a reciprocal link checker might be advisable. www.linksmanger.com offers a link management system that includes periodic checking of link partners as well as a link exchange system for around $20 a month.

This write-up is exceedingly praiseworthy still some readers are doubtful about its benefits.

Those who were seeking for Online Marketing Strategies felt contented. But few of them didn’t help.

If you are meddling for a stuff on Online Marketing Strategies, you can definitely decide about the applications of the piece of literature. Explore till the close to feel if it works for you.

9. So what are the best links?

One answer could be the ones that deliver lots of relevant traffic . However links can mean different things to different people. Natural linking [when people link to you without you asking] is a great reward, but it is also wise to ensure you have some links from quality sites in your industry. Teoma can be a good place to find such sites as it focuses more on human edited results than say Google for example. Simply make a search with a good key phrase on www.teoma.com and you will quickly see which websites are the authority sites. Set about trying to get listed on as many of the best ones as you can.

8 Killer Mistakes For Ezine Failure You Must Avoid

Now, have a look at this information. This stuff is just the right stuff to have the clairvoyance on Website Promotion.

8 Killer Mistakes For Ezine Failure You Must Avoid

 by: Christos Varsamis

It is true that sometimes in life there is a small line between failure and success. The same thing applies with ezines and newsletters. Some details we consider unimportant are the keys for the success of our publication or failure.

1) Be Careful with the from field.

Although many consider this as a detail, it is the first thing a user will see. Who is sending the email. Use either your name or your business name. Avoid any kind of other phrases in that field .It will cost you a lot.

2) The subject line.

This is the second more important field in the email. Avoid hype in that area like Earn 50.000$ in 2 weeks e.t.c. People are smarter than you think. You will never be believable. Emphasize to the purpose of your newsletter .Do not use more than 7 words in your subject line.

No doubts about the clarity of this stuff, still the individuals are unsure about its positives.

It was like a blessing for those folks who were hunting for Internet Marketing Consultant. But some of them didn’t benefit.

You should be very competent in your probe for Internet Marketing Consultant before being judgemental about this report. Go through this till the conclusion to feel if it works for you.

3) Call to buy in the first mailing.

This is a common mistake most ezine publishers do .They have sales pitch on the first time. Research has proved that you will gain your subscriber trust after 6 to 7 mailings according always to the content you offer.

4) Use death words, which spam filters ban.

For God s sake, do not use words or phrases like free, make money, hello, your family, and other. Your newsletter will go directly to junk mail and will be erased without notice.

5) Avoid too much personalization.

Okey-doke. Now that you have read till this point, we commit that furthermore you will have something inspiring. You need to be associated with this projection to have more.

Although personalization is important in order to create a friendly ambience, do not overdo it. Some people will consider this as rudeness. Use their name only once in your mailings on the first line of your message, not more. Otherwise, some of your subscribers will be insulted and unsubscribe in a second.

6) Use more verbs, not adjectives.

The best internet marketers and advertisement agencies has proved that verbs are much stronger than adjectives. Especially the call to action verbs are so strong that could increase the response rate up to 700%! For example, use the verbs, boost, and explode instead of the word increase . See how stronger they are?

7) Use auto responders not web pages.

Many people use on their mailings or other advertisement campaigns their web page mostly. That is big a mistake. The estimate shows that 30% max will subscribe from your web site. On the contrary if you promote your auto responder the percentage, goes from 80% to 100%! Of course, you can use both. It is effective too.

8) Too much info in the submit form.

This is another typical mistake. Some ezines require submitting more personal information such as: email, first and last name, area and other. The info you really need is the first name and the email. Many internet users consider any more than that as violation of their personal info. That means fewer subscribers for your ezine.

Power Packed Linking Strategies - Part Two

How should we analyze Christian Advertise? Just scan what we may desire to say on Christian Advertise.

Your endurance with this piece of information is essential. Don’t let this piece of information slip away. This has some principle details about Website Promotion.

Power Packed Linking Strategies - Part Two

 by: Tony Cooper

The keyword marketing guide to a linking strategy that packs real punching power.

This is the second in a series of three articles showing you how to find a suitable linking strategy for your website and put it to work for you.

All right! Can you notice an improvement to your perception on Christian Advertise? I’m dead sure, you must have gained it.

Don’t forget to analyse the pages on Website Promotion. They might be profitable for you. We would provide you with resources at the conclusion of this report.

Link strategy number one: The Front Page Link Swap.

The most important page on your site is naturally the home page and as this is the page that is most often pointed to by internal and external links this is the page that carries the most linking power . This is more usually called page rank (Google) or Yahoo Web rank (Yahoo).

Important note: If you are promoting an e-book, guide, tutorial or you are using a similar marketing technique then you should make your links come back to the promotional page and not your home page. As this is the page that you will want to go out and compete for you in the search engines.

The way that linking algorithms is of course a closely guarded secret, however it s known that the more links that you have on a page the less linking power is assigned to each link on the page. Thus a links page with 75 links on it is going to give little benefit in link boost and also a small amount of traffic, it is after all competing with 74 other links.

No doubts about the clarity of this excerpt, still the persons are unsure about its benefits.

Many of the readers were satisfied by this excerpt. It was unyielding for a couple of persons.

But, why to discontinue in midway? Go through this till the close to feel if it works for you.

This is where the front page link swap is such a powerful strategy.

By swapping a link from your homepage with a link from another site of equal or greater linking power you are getting a far bigger return in terms of both the link value and traffic than you would for exchanging links on a buried links page.

The downside is that to find willing and co operative webmasters to do the exchange is very time consuming.

Just as you would in your regular business dealings you should make time to seek out potential front page link swap partners. The traffic rewards will really pay dividends.

Link strategy number two. The One Way Directory Link.

As the power of the link goes up as more and more search engines use it as a method of ranking sites so directories are cashing in on a charge to be listed. What was once a free resource has now become an expensive link gathering exercise.

Still the most important free directory entry is http://www.dmoz.org but these days the waiting list seems to be forever. Seek out directories and place your links at every opportunity. Industry portals are a great linking source.

All right! So, how was your experience of glancing till here? I hope it escalated your learning curve.

The plentiful awareness on Website Promotion is also being given by us. We would forward you with resources at the end of this article.

Link strategy number three. The Strategic Article Link.

This type of link packs the biggest punch of all.

Writing an article on your favourite subject can give you many benefits not least in credibility and giving you recognition as an authority on your chosen subject. It is by far the best way of gaining links and traffic to your site.

The technique is to write an article of five to six hundred words on a subject that you are knowledgeable about. Get several of your trusted friends to proof read and contribute and then refine it into a readable style.

Remember that writing for the web is totally different than writing for other media types. Surfing is a solitary experience for most and it s important that you capture your reader s attention and imagination.

For this type of article don t worry about stuffing it with keywords in your page title and headings, you are not writing for search engines. The aim is to make a highly readable piece that will be distributed throughout all of the websites related to your subject matter in your industry.

So you can t write? It s well worth your while to hunt around and find a good copywriter that you can work with. The return on investment is 1000 times what you would ever get from advertising in your local rag.

Why Search Engine Traffic Should be Your Top Priority

Christian Web Promotion update is right at your way. Make usage this report to appreciate Website Promotion more deeply and clearly.

Why Search Engine Traffic Should be Your Top Priority

 by: Richard Zwicky

Most Internet marketing methods are risky and many will not have any affect on traffic to a web site. Some online marketers will sell you anything from banner impressions, to mass email campaigns (spam), to popup ads. All these marketing tools can work, but they are also extremely risky. Some people I know find pop-ups and spam so annoying that they will never purchase anything from a business that uses them. These plans are probably not the best customer acquisition strategies, and more likely they are a total waste of money. So why would anyone bother risking money on marketing strategies that probably will not increase traffic to your website? Why not concentrate on what does work? - The search engines.

Have you ever been contacted by online marketers who promise to deliver a “ton of traffic” to your website” ? I get these emails every day. Here’s a quote from one I used to get 10 times a day (until I automatically filtered it to trash):

“Hi I visited www.metamend.com, and noticed that you’re not listed on some search engines! I think we can offer you a service which can help you increase traffic and the number of visitors to your website.

I would like to introduce you to thispromotioncompany.com. We offer a unique technology that will submit your website to over 300,000 search engines and directories every month.

What is your perception about the adequacy of this write-up?

It was an advantage for those people who were hunting for Christian Web Promotion. To few, unproductive!

But, why to stop in midway? Just apprehend till the terminating word and get the meaning of the write-up.

You’ll be surprised by the low cost, and by how effective this website promotion method can be.

To find out more about thispromotioncompany and the cost for submitting your website to over 300,000 search engines and directories, visit www.thispromotioncompany.com. (…)”

Have you ever received one, and wondered why they were contacting you? First off, how did they find your web site? What search engines are they referring to? If they really could deliver on their promise, then they would have so much repeat, and word of mouth business, that they wouldn’t have time to be calling or emailing you. Lastly, how many people actually believe that there are 300,000 search engines?

While it’s true you need traffic from the search engines, you don’t need to use spam techniques to get it. You need real results, and not false hope.

Increase Web Site Traffic,.. Naturally

It is true that the best way to obtain lots of targeted traffic (customers) is to acquire it based on relevance, via the search engines. Various studies show that anywhere from 83% to 92% of first time visitors to a web site find it through the search engines. That’s an incredible statistic. If you are not acquiring those customers as a result of a relevant query, then they will be disappointed. They may be disappointed with the search result, but more likely, they will be disappointed with your web site.

No doubts about the coherence of this write-up, still the readers are quivery about its advantages.

This write-up is an embellishment for those folks who were on the lookout of Christian Web Promotion. To few, unproductive!

But, why to discontinue in midway? Go through this till the conclusion to see if it works for you.

In the online world that’s your first impression. We all know how important a first impression is. You can never get a bad one back, and a good one will carry you a long way. You have to make sure that the search engines are sending you visitors that are looking for your products or services. If your web site matches their interests, they will remember it, and come back, even if they do not make a purchase on that visit. If they find it irrelevant, they may have subconsciously formed a negative opinion of your online business, through no fault of your own.

Search engines provide a continuous stream of targeted visitors to your website, and for the most part, it’s free of charge. Some engines do charge a listing fee, but most do not. The only thing the search engine asks is that each web site operator makes an effort to provide relevant and good information to web surfers for a particular search phrase. If a web site does so, the search engines will reward the site with increased good quality traffic.

Search engine traffic is a win-win situation for any online business. It doesn’t take much to improve on most web site’s search engine traffic - it just takes optimization. Did you know that as of January 1 2002, there were 160,000,000 domain hosts in use worldwide? Did you know that 88% of the web pages worldwide are not indexed by the largest search engines? 88% of web pages are not optimized. How can any business survive on the Internet if it is not optimized for the search engines, and thus can never be found? How can they exist if over 83% of first time visitors never find their web site? How much more money could a web site operator earn if they ensured their web site was even partially visible?

If you have an informative web site, the search engines want to send you lots of customers. That’s because the more web surfers find what they want, the more they’ll use a particular search engine and recommend it to their friends. The search engine also benefits, as it becomes known as a resource that gets its clients - the searchers - to their destinations quickly and efficiently. The more people recognize how well the engine works as a resource, the more it gets recommended, and used. As the popularity increases, so do the engine’s revenues from advertising.

What Does Your Web Site Need To Receive Traffic From The Search Engines?

Small web sites with only 1 or 2 pages set themselves up for failure, simply because they usually don’t have enough content of interest. There are of course exceptions, where the 1 or 2 pages are each as long as a book. But these are awfully frustrating to read, and no one will be satisfied with them. Most often 1 or 2 page sites are simply too short to provide any useful information, so the search engines don’t take them seriously. Among other factors, the search engines examine how deep a site is. The more meaningful content present, the more weighty the site is viewed as, and the more importance it is given.

If you are wondering about whether to bother, ask yourself this: Why does your company have a web site? What does the company do with it? Think about it. Most companies today have web sites, and most market the web sites to facilitate customer acquisition, to increase their customer base, and to improve customer retention rates.

Well. Further insight to the piece of the article could be a surprise to the expert. Your additional curiosity in this report would be an added vantage for you.

There are a number of reasons for having web sites. Many companies use theirs to enhance their customer service. Using a web site as a marketing vehicle is a great way for a company “to put the word out” about products, services, or offerings.

Most importantly, remember that your web site is an online resource that your clients can use to find answers to frequently asked questions, “how to” tips, and to educate themselves. When including content on a web site, always remember that the knowledge shared may be common to you, but it’s likely that you are an expert in the eyes of your clients. People visit your web site for your product or service, but also for information. If they find useful, relevant, information, they will keep coming back, and will likely make purchases. People like to buy from experts.

Instead of thinking of your web site as nothing more than an online billboard or business card, think of it as an online menu, that lets people get an idea of what it is you do, and how you do it. Develop a content rich website, optimize it, and let the search engines increase your website traffic, naturally. If you optimize each major web page within your site, you will increase the rankings in the search engine results and therefore receive targeted traffic for each of those pages.

Doing each of the above - ensuring relevant content is present, and optimizing the pages - will ensure that the search engines have what they need so they can do their work. It will also ensure that they can send you targeted traffic (customers), so that you can get that 83% of first time visitors your online business needs to survive.

Get Started Now- Why the Time is Right for Internet Business

Glance over at this addiction recovery article. Make usage this article to appreciate health more deeply and clearly.

If you have long dreamed of getting your piece of the Internet business pie but have held off due to fear, lack of skills, shortage of money, or any other reason under the sun, now is the time to get going. There are four reasons why the time is right to get going on line: general acceptance of the Internet, maturity of on line resources, the abundance of resources on which to build a business and the fact that anyone can afford to start an Internet business now. Let s take a look at why this is so.

First, overall use of the Internet continues to grow, not only in this country, but worldwide. Technology we may find confusing is taken for granted by our children, and even grandma and grandpa now get on line. Consumers across all demographics are shopping, and often buying, on the Internet. Statistics show growth rates in the number of Internet users at over 20 percent per year for the past ten years. Recent U.S. Department of Commerce statistics report on line consumer sales of $117 billion in2004, just 3.3 per cent of total U.S. retail sales of $3.6 trillion dollars. But, while total consumer sales grew by 6.8 percent in 2004, on line sales grew by 26 per cent. By all indications, this growth rate will continue to increase as the www generation becomes more comfortable with Internet buying due to improved customer service habits of on line vendors.

The second reason the time is ripe to get going with an Internet business is the maturity of the Internet. That is, businesses that survived the dot com bubble or have come on line after that time tend to be more stable than their predecessors. More traditional business models, focusing on customer service, advertising, and reliability have been incorporated into web business practices. Serious business people value a good Internet reputation. This benefits everyone working on line.

The third reason to get your Internet based business started now is the ease at which the average Joe can now create a web presence. From purchasing adomain name to creating an actual website, getting a business on line has never been easier. There are web hosting businesses that will take you step by step through the entire process for a very reasonable price. If you prefer to do it yourself , there are software programs available, such as Microsoft Front Page or Web Studio to guide you through setting up your website.

And lastly, this is the time to start on Internet business because right now this is one of the least expensive ways to have a business of your own. With the cost of setting up a traditional storefront business in the thousands of dollars, and considering that about half of new small businesses fail in the first five years, the thought of risking it all for a traditional business is only for the most hardy (or fool hardy, depending on how you look at it!). Franchises are somewhat safer, but not only can they also have huge startup costs, a significant portion of the business profits will be paid to the home office for the privilege of using their name, reputation and training.

Of course, once you decide to get your slice of the Internet pie, you still have to have a product to sell. And there are plenty of people who would like to offer their advice, often for a price. You see, that is what they do, make money from people who want to develop an Internet presence but haven t a clue what to do. That is their product. A little research will show that just about any and everything is sold on line these days. Find you niche and a little creative thought will lead you towards the path to success.

If after all your research you still want in this Internet thing, but don t feel comfortable going it alone, consider joining a reputable recurrent income organization. Such a company rewards you for providing word of mouth advertising for its goods and services. The best companies are those in which potential customers are referred to a website so they can become members, purchase goods or services and even start a business of their own if they so desire. You stay in touch and provide human contact, the relationship building. Find a company that supplies not only the products to sell and ships that product directly to consumers, but which provides a web site, training and support to guide you in building a successful business.

There are other reasons to own an Internet business, such as the tax advantages offered to small businesses that employees never get. But those are just the icing on the cake. Despite all the advantages, you have to be willing to work hard and make sacrifices to be successful. The old saying, You don t get something for nothing , still applies. It s not for everyone. If hard work doesn t appeal to you, plop yourself down on the couch, turn on your favorite show, open a bag of chips and just forget about it. But for those who seriously desire to develop a presence on the Internet, the time has never been better.

Summary
There are four reasons why the time is right to get going on line: general acceptance of the Internet, maturity of on line resources, an abundance of resources on which to build a business and the fact that anyone can afford to start an Internet business now.

EyeTrack III - Can It Really SEE Your Visitors Thought Patterns?

Study this piece of information to discover more on Internet marketing. Don’t ignore the value of this write-up as it can be used to perceive about internet marketing.

EyeTrack III - Can It Really SEE Your Visitors Thought Patterns?
By: Martin Lemieux

This you DO NOT want to miss: The newest report out on “seeing” what people look at when they browse through your site and how they react to certain layouts, headlines, images, and text formats.

Do you really want to know what people see when they visit your site? You think you’re ready for the harsh reality?

The project managers of the EYETRACK III team, Steve Outing and Laura Ruel seem to have done quite a bit of work and I want to thank them for their findings.

Although this is one of the best articles, I’m bit doubtful about its utility for everyone.

It aided specific readers who were searching for Internet marketing. Some of the people didn’t find it praiseworthy.

If you are looking for an article on Internet marketing, you can definitely decide about the reliability of the article. One must be enduring while reading because the hindmost word might make a difference.

So how do we utilize this new found information ? Knowledge is only power, unless it is applied.

Applying Knowledge: Homepage Layout

Quoted From:
http://www.poynterextra.org/eyetrack2004/main.htm

“The eyes most often fixated first in the upper left of the page, then hovered in that area before going left to right. Only after perusing the top portion of the page for some time did their eyes explore further down the page.”

It is mentioned all throughout those articles that the people they tested and had the EyeTracker III track their movements, and they repeatedly looked towards the upper left hand corner first. The logical reason for that would be because many people in the world read left-to-right. Only certain people can read right-to-left.

That would be another explanation why they even tested sites that used their menu on the right and why most of the people tested, seemed to be drawn to the menus on the right.

Pay Attention As To What You Add On The Top Left Hand Corner!

Msn does this so perfectly, here’s what you can find at the top of MSN, MSN Home, My MSN, Hotmail, Web Search, Shopping, Money, People & Chat .

The study shows that with having important links at the top, people will gravitate to those links first. First impressions are huge, even more than most of us consider sometimes.

Things you can add at the top to maximize the space:

- Add a link To Their Favorites button
- Tell a friend link
- Search function
- Company specials
- Site Map
- Contact Us
- Log-In
- Print Page
- Newsletter Subscription
- Daily News Report

How To Improve Your Content For More Exposure:

If you have information or news that you want read right away, try to implement and position that information near the top. The study shows that by adding a small “caption” of the article, people will generally read the caption more than if there were only a headline to the article.

Fine. You’ve been patient enough to read till this point, it means you are basically curious in Internet marketing and internet marketing. Your appetite for info could get quenched in subsequent paragraphs.

On the other hand, it doesn t mean that people will read the entire article more but … You may attract readers to that article that may have just brushed the headline off.

The key to your content is flow:

If you want people to scroll down and view the content that you have near the bottom of the page, make sure that ALL of your content flows towards the bottom. Try not to break it in any way. The more flow you have, the more people will browse down.

Many aspects of web sites functionality is sub-conscious. Implementing more and more tested strategies will increase your chances at a successful and powerful website.

Does mimicking newspaper formats help your content?

Not really, the Eeyetrack III didn’t show a more positive response to websites that did mimic newspapers and their content. In fact, the reaction to the content was approximately the same as any other column online.

“It is very easy to get people to visit your site once, It’s even harder to keep them there and/or get them to come back.” MRL

Can you increase the time spent on your site?

With the EyeTrack system, they also tested “time” factors into their findings. What they found wasn’t too shocking since most humans react the same way when browsing and & learning online.

Ah. So, how was your experience of glancing till here? I hope it improved your awareness.

We have additional material on internet marketing if you need to go through. Be dead sure not to forget the hierarchy on internet marketing at the conclusion of this write-up.

Our attention span online is very limited, you need to grab their attention right away. If you don’t grab someone’s attention at first glance, they will click away on the spot.

What kind of design layout is the best?

Nothing too flashy seems to be the winner. It was stated that the individuals that were tested with the EYETRACK III didn’t even look at many of the graphics online until the end. People seem to gravitate to text and headlines before they take a look at specials with graphics. This is such a turn around from newspapers and magazines.

So does this prove that content is king? I would think so.

Image & Graphics, can they really work?

Its was stated that, the size of your image/graphics did make a difference. The larger you can go, the better. So it may be wise to make sure that your advertisers within your site, have the largest graphic visible to the eye to gain the most exposure for your advertisers as possible.

If you don’t have advertisers on your site don’t worry. Try to implement large images for your company s services/products and specials. Please also keep in mind that not everyone is on high speed internet or cable. Make sure to test your site for download speeds and keep your download time to a minimal. You don’t want to lose your visitors because it took more than a minute to download one page.

Everything has it’s purpose:

Like mentioned before, internet marketing success is not one thing all the way, it’s 100 little things coming together. Implementing these findings from the EYETRACK III will increase your chances at winning your visitors hearts and getting them to come back time and time again.

Sitting around, reading articles like these and not creating new strategies will bring you the same results you have now. It’s the people who take information like this and really try to implement them on their site that will achieve better results online.

Do yourself a favor, if you haven’t read the EYETRACK III report, take some time out of your schedule to read the report right away.
